  5. This demo starts with keyboard control pre-selected.  After gameplay
  6. begins, you may select joystick control by pressing ALT-J.
  7.  
  8. To grab onto or hang from ledges, press and hold the SHIFT or CTRL key
  9. (or 0 on the numeric keypad), or press and hold a joystick button.  To
  10. let go of the ledge, release the key or joystick button.
  11.  
  12. ALT-J    Select joystick control.  Also recalibrates the program to
  13.     match you joystick.  Make sure that when you press this key
  14.     the joystick is in the center (released) position.
  15. ALT-K    Select keyboard control.
  16. ALT-S    Turn all sound off/on.
  17. ALT-M    Turn ambient music off/on.
  18. ALT-R    Ends the game and returns you to the opening title sequence.
  19. ALT-A    Restarts play from the beginning of Level 1.
  20. ALT-Q    Quit game and return to DOS.
  21. CTRL-Q    Quit game and return to DOS.
  22. ESC    Pause the game.  Press any other key to resume play.

  31. This demonstration allows you to view a self-running demo of Prince
  32. of Persia 2: The Shadow and The Flame, or to actually play through
  33. the game's exiciting first level.  Once you've had a taste, we know
  34. you'll be back for more.  Way more.

  36. Type PRINCE <enter> to start the demo.  You may press the SPACE BAR or
  37. ESC at any time to begin the game.  To quit, type CTRL-Q or ALT-Q.

  39.                       Controlling Your Movements
  40.  
  41. Use the keys (or joystick) shown below to control the Prince's movements.
  42. Note that certain keys perform different functions when used in
  43. conjunction with the SHIFT key (button 1 on the joystick).  Letter keys,
  44. as noted in the diagram, can be used for the same functions as the numeric
  45. keypad.

  47.                             Sword Fighting
  48.  
  49. To strike or draw your sword, press the CTRL key (or 0 on the numeric
  50. keypad) or button 1 on the joystick.  To advance or retreat, press the
  51. 4 or 6 key or move the joystick left or right.  To block you opponent's
  52. strike, press the 8 key, or push the joystick up.  To turn around, press
  53. 4 or 6 while holding down the SHIFT key, or press button 1 while moving
  54. the joystick.  To put away your sword, press 5, or pull the joystick down.
